I am SO not a DIY Person...

In my head John and Sherry are my brother and sister from another mother. I seriously, want to be a great diy-er (Is that a word? It is? I thought so.) like them.  I want friends and family to walk in my house and say " WOW! Where did you get that awsome (insert AWSOME object here)?" And I will just humbly smile a say, " O, I just picked that up off the side of the road and made it look AWSOME on my spare time."

But I'm not that person. I can think of tons of cool things to do with vintage pieces I find, but to execute it is a different story for me. But since Heather and I have this blog about vintage clothes and accessories, I thought why not attempt to become the person I know I can!

About 2 or 3 years ago, I went to Walnut, Iowa with some friends to go antique shopping. I found some cool earrings that I LOVE and wear ALOT. But the one thing that caught my eye the most were these beautiful theater seats. They were a blonde wood  with a red star on the back of the seat. I wanted them so bad. It only cost $65 for the set of three chairs. I didn't buy them cause I needed to convince my husband that we needed them. He wasn't picking up what I was throwing down.

A year later he finally agreed that I could get them. Ofcourse, when I went to Walnut again, they were gone. But I found another set.

These are a set of Heywood-Wakefield auditorium seats. Right now, they are not the prettiest they could be. But since I'm such a good diy-er (saying it makes it real, right?), I'm going to make this my very first piece of furniture that I attempt to make AWSOME. I have big plans for these babies. Hopefully they turn out the way they are in my head. I will be posting lots of updates for you soon!
